Fischli and Weiss are one of my favourite artistic duos. The reason is simple: they use humour effectively and simply, something surprisingly difficult to do these days. The thing about Fischli and Weiss is that they’re difficult to grasp a hold of - every time you think you’ve figured them out, you know their practise, their concerns, their materials - they do something fresh, new, alive. I think you’ve got to be more than a little goofy to make a tiny city from sausages, and it’s that goofiness that keeps their work fresh and fascinating.
